About Reid Whatley

Since 1985 Mr. Whatley has been performing on cruises on San Francisco Bay for Hornblower Cruises and Events. To this day he performs on 4 to 6 bay cruises a week as disc jockey, upright bassist, drummer & vocalist. It is estimated that during this time he has performed on 5,000+ cruise events for public, private and corporate clients and has amassed over 100,000 miles circumnavigating San Francisco Bay.

Between 1992-1999 Mr. Whatley held the position of DJ Department & Equipment/Technical Services Manager for Hornblower Cruises and Events & continues on a consulting basis to assist the yacht company with entertainment systems needs.

Mr. Whatley also performs as DJ MisterSpin for various events around the Bay Area as well as an instrumentalist for a variety of ensembles performing around the Bay including several Salsa bands.

Between 1984-1995 Mr. Whatley owned and operated an independent recording studio acting as producer, recordist, multi-instrumentalist & music computer programmer.

Mr. Whatley holds motion picture soundtrack credits as drummer on "The Unbearable Lightness of Being," (Philip Kaufman), "Tucker: The Man and His Dream" (Francis Ford Coppola), "Eat A Bowl of Tea," (Wayne Wang) & was an on-camera extra in "On The Edge" tackling Bruce Dern during a running race on Mount Tamalpias in Marin County, CA.
